Open positions:
Research Scientist, Ph.D.
We are seeking a PhD-level molecular biologist with advanced wet-lab expertise in biochemistry of nucleic acids (both DNA and RNA) and in bioinformatics. Expertise in cancer biology and/or microbiology is highly desirable. Preference will be given to the candidates with postdoctoral and/or industrial experience as well as high-quality publications. The selected individual will work on developing novel technologies for detecting circulating cell-free DNA by next generation sequencing (NGS).
We expect that the selected individual will be able to work independently as well as interacting well in a team and with collaborators, supervise research assistant(s), have excellent writing, communication and presentation skills, and be well-versed in statistical data analysis and scientific computing. Also, an ability “to think differently,” generating new ideas for grant proposals and patent applications is desirable.
SomaGenics invents, develops, and commercializes innovative technologies for RNA and DNA research tools and molecular diagnostics, particularly for “liquid biopsy.” as well as small RNA-based therapeutics. We have been highly successful in procuring NIH grant funding and have developed an extensive patent portfolio. The company has commercialized several research tools for detection of small RNAs by RT-qPCR and NGS, some of which were recently spun out into a separate company.
SomaGenics offers competitive salaries and benefits, including stock options. If you seek an intellectually stimulating, semi-academic work environment, please contact us. Candidates must be authorized for work in the U.S.
SomaGenics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
